Wang and Huang (2011) pided it into different types from the perspective of length and type of formulaic sequence in their study on formulaic sequence in interpreting. This study was close to my study, so I chose the last one.
2.2 Previous Research on Formulaic Sequence
Ding and QI (2005) investigated and analyzed the acquiring knowledge of formulaic sequence by Chinese English majors college students and relativity between formulaic sequence knowledge and grammar knowledge and oral English, formulaic sequence knowledge and grammar knowledge and English writing. So the paper did two investigations: English oral research and English writing research. In English writing research the subjects were 22 students of one class of English major senor college. They were asked to finish a fixed topic essay about 300 words within 50 minutes. And then used SPSS to collect data. The results showed that the application of formulaic sequences took up small proportion. Most sentences were made up of vocabularies, so the essays were not enough normative or idiomaticity.
