     According to physical and mental development patterns of children, it is the optimum period for children to study language between two and three years old, during which students start to learn language by playing games。 So games is the most direct and effective way to help students learn English and many researchers believe that playing games is a better way to arouse students interest。

     It is known that games can supply meaningful and effective practice of language, so how to use games into our teaching is most teachers should focus on, and how to make use of games teaching method to enhance the communication between students and teachers。

2。Literature Review

     Games teaching method, just as its name implies, is a form of teaching by using games。 Under the lively atmosphere,joyous events, and fierce competition can students grasp the main contents unconsciously or master some necessary outdoor scientific knowledge。 Games teaching method is the combination of games and teaching which is a new and remarkable teaching method。

     Games teaching in English classrooms aims at organizing the whole students to attend some interesting activities to practice language and improve the spirit of communication and cooperation。 While quantities of pupils regard English learning as a big problem, and the reason why they are so struggled is not they can’t grasp knowledge correctly, but can’t enjoy their study happily。 The root cause resulting in the current English teaching problem is that they have no interest in English learning。,while interest is the best teacher for our students。 So how to stimulate students’ interest is a very significant task in English teaching and learning, and how to combine knowledge with games is still under consideration 。论文网

2。2 Characteristics of Game Teaching

     According to Longman Dictionary of Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics, “games” in language teaching is defined as an organized activities having the following characteristics (1) a particular task or objective。 (2) a set of rules。 (3) competition between players。 (4)communication between players by target language。 (Richard,Platt,1992)。The famous American psychologist Bruce believes that the best learning motivation is the intrinsic interest in the learning materials, and games is the best way to stimulate students’ interest。

     The famous educator Chen Heqin(陈鹤琴, 1921)said “The game is children’s nature, for children the game is life and the life is game”。 And in playing games, competition can stimulate and encourage students to take part in the activities and want to beat other teams。 While playing, students can feel relaxed and have fun。Besides fun, they can learn at the same time, what’s more, they will realize that they need to speak loudly and clearly in order to make other students understand what they are saying。 So teachers should blend specific teaching contents into games, change static to dynamic teaching, make pupils grasp knowledge and improve ability under the relaxing atmosphere。
