Time is a shared cognitive concept to the human。 However, people of different culture give perse meanings to time and distinct ways of using time, owing to different social practice, historical geographic environment, and different world outlook, different outlook on life and different values。 People from different culture have different sense of time。 When they move into culturally unfamiliar contexts, such as when they go abroad to live or study, or when they take up a job in a very different type of organization, they often experience some challenges to their senses of identity, such as their inpidual, interpersonal and community identities (Oatey and Franklin 161)。 People are all living in the present time, remembering the past, looking forward to the future。 Although the minute and second is the same, people in different areas have different perceptions of time。 Therefore, when people from two different cultures communicate with each other, the concept of time will restrict and control people’s words and behaviors in virtually, in which way cross-cultural communication activities may be effected to some extent。 American Anthropologist once said, “Time is a silent language for that time can convey more information than words” (Hall Silent 20)。 This article attempts to discuss the difference in attitude towards time and behaviors to time, as well as to analyze factors that lead to the concept of time difference between the United States and China’s culture。 从时间观念的转变看中美文化融合:http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_202752.html
