Teachers’ attitudes are also relevant with developing learner autonomy。 Scholars did some research among instructors。 They virtually accept and appreciate learner autonomy。 Nevertheless, some people believe that students, particularly non-English learners in China are incapable of autonomous learning and that learners who have been accustomed to being controlled by their teachers will not accept it。 Quite a few of the English teachers think it is difficult to achieve it nowadays because of some complicated conditions involving teachers’ as well as learners’ awareness of the concept, teaching materials especially textbooks, evaluation methods, etc。
